The Dark Side – Day 4

March 30, 2017

What are the emotions you’ve forbidden yourself to feel?

Inventory Focus: Are there parts of yourself that you’re repressing, instead of expressing? Each week, you’ve been working on an inventory focus related to the value of the week. In Twelve Step programs, people are encouraged to do regular inventories of their shortcomings, their dark side. After a huge sweep of an inventory, they’re encouraged to make daily checks to monitor their shortcomings.

Then they’re encouraged to discuss this part of themselves with God and with another human being. Most religions have some sort of formalized ritual for expressing and shining light on the dark side that all human beings have. How do you deal with your dark side? Have you looked at it lately? Are you at least somewhat willing to look at and accept the dark part of yourself and others?
