Passion – Day 2
May 22, 2018
“Write a lead that inspires me. Find the passion in the story,” an editor at a daily paper goaded so long ago.
She taught me a valuable lesson. I didn’t have to write high-drama stories about murders or election nights to find passion. I could cover a city-council meeting or a cheerleading competition and find something to be interested in if I listen to people and to my heart.
Has life gotten dull, boring, lackluster? Maybe you need a new life with new goals and new dreams. Or maybe you just need to awaken your passion for the people, places, and things already in your life.
Application: We all go through the motions at times, but if we’re constantly bored, unenthusiastic, and disinterested in life, passion may be the value to apply. If we’re creating a lot of artificial drama, we can light a real fire in our heart by finding out what we’re passionate about. We may not need to change our lives. We may just need to take a risk and learn what genuinely interests us.
