Boundaries – Day 2
October 09, 2018
“I don’t think of myself as codependent,” a friend said. “I call myself an overcarer instead. The problem is, when I care too much about one person, someone else doesn’t get enough of my attention.”
The person we’re neglecting by giving too much is frequently ourselves.
Application: We have a buzzer that goes off when we’re doing something we don’t want to do that’s truly not our duty, when we’re being manipulated, or when we’re not being true to ourselves. Whenever we think we hear that buzzer making noise, it probably is (and has been for a while).
