Practice – Day 3

It’s easy to become lazy and complacent, but living our values requires daily practice. It’s also tempting to compartmentalize our lives. “Oh, I believe in values like honesty and surrender,” we say, “but this part of my life is immune.” Or it doesn’t occur to us that principles like powerlessness, turning a struggle over to a Higher Power, and praying for God’s Will for us might work in financial, work, and relationship problems.
Challenge: The biggest challenge to consistently practicing values is this: We have to stop luxuriating in being victims and take responsibility for ourselves. Practicing values means the ball is always in our court.
