Compassion – Day 3
May 29, 2019
It can be difficult to tell when we cross the line from compassion to overcaring—understanding another person so much that we don’t hold them accountable for what they do.
There are a lot of lines we can cross with compassion. We can move into pity for others or ourselves. But going too far the other way isn’t good either. We can be so hard on others and ourselves that we don’t allow for normal feelings of sadness and grief.
Challenge: The hardest thing about having compassion is that often we truly don’t understand how a thing feels until we wake up one day and it happens to us.
