I put a sign on my wall. This is what the sign says, just in case I forget: “I didn’t do it my way. And I didn’t do it alone.”

Prayer: Teach me to be as tolerant and forgiving with others as you are with me.

In addiction and recovery circles, Melody Beattie is a household name. She is the best-selling author of numerous books.
